Damien trains on the family property of Artassenx. He was naturally drawn into the sport from a young age. He started as an amateur jockey before going on to spend multiple years as assistant trainer to Criquette Head in Chantilly and Paul Cole in Great Britain. He returned to France and, after his military service, he took out his trainer’s licence in 2002 with a view to growing and continuing on the work of his father.
Damien had his first winner in 2003 which was followed 30 minutes later by his second winner. That same year, he saddled his first Gr1 PA runner in Deauville with Kerjam for Sheikh Mishal Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani.
In 2004, he had his first Gr1 PA winner in Deauville for Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed with Djezika.
In 2005, his first Gr1 PA at Newmarket with Kandar du Falgas for Sheikh Hamdam Al Maktoum.
In 2006, Riche Américaine and Atlantique Nord shone at Listed level in the colours of his wife Axelle.
In 2008, Akim de Ducor won seven races from seven starts at three including 4 Gr1 PA (2 at St-Cloud, 1 at Hambourg and 1 in Doha).
Quaolina won a Gr1 PA in Newbury for Sheikh Hamdam Al Maktoum.

The first success with a Thoroughbred for Sheikh Hamdam Al Maktoum, followed by a place in a Listed, with Qizween.
Baie d’Honneur won the Prix FBA – Aymeri de Mauléon at Toulouse - Listed 2013, Gharra took her second Breeder’s Cup Classic.
In 2014, Ghazwa won the first of her three Breeder’s Cup Sprints.
In 2015, Mambomiss won her first Listed as well as finishing second in the Grand Prix de Vichy Gr3 and third in the Prix Allez France Gr3.
